This was by far the windiest climb on this mountain. No snowshoes were needed from car to Snoqualmie-Guye saddle, put them on once we reached the upper meadow. Four of us picked up a hiker on the way in, two decided to stay down at the meadow while the three of us headed up to the summit.
Not sure how fast the wind was blowing, but it got worse the minute we stepped up to the meadow. The wind got so bad that we couldn’t hear one another speak when we tried. We found momentary relief in trees near the summit, and I took a break there while the other two went to the eastern end.
The wind died down a bit on the way down, but we were still having trouble speaking to one another without yelling. Crazy day!
