2013/5/15 – Freedom Peak / 自由峯

Weather forecast was not good anywhere in the Cascades, but in Teanaway we had a better chance of not getting rained on.

Gate closed at Stafford Creek, but not a problem since the trailhead is just on the other side of the gate. Getting the dogs over the gate was a little tricky.

The scramble started about a mile in and the ridge line was easy to follow. Lots of loose rocks and some talus at higher elevation. Traverse around the big rock blocks instead of climbing over them, because you would end up down climbing the other side and back to the ridge anyway.

Summit was windy, cloudy just to the north in The Enchantments. The only fully visible Enchantments peaks were Little Annapurna and McClellan Peak.
