The goal was to climb Spark Plug Mountain. But as I hiked up Surprise Lake Trail somehow I wasn’t really feeling it, think the absent of the boys and/or a climbing partner had something to do with it. Instead I kept hiking and eventually ended up at Glacier Lake byway of Surprise Lake, which the dogs and I hiked to two Christmases ago.
Getting around the boulders by Lake Glacier shore to be closer to the water for a better view was a bit tricky. The boulders hadn’t yet been completely covered in snow, so there were lots of opportunities one could fall into the cracks among the rocks.
It’s been while since we’ve had a sunny, warmish Sunday.
