To make yesterday’s 2.5-hour drive from Seattle to Teanaway worthwhile, I decided to stay east of the mountains and seek out a new hiking spot.

Morning after climbing It Peak, pups and I came to check out views north of the City of Wenatchee.
The peak provided great views into both Nahahum Canyon and Swakane Canyon.
This was pups' and my backup plan when we snowshoed up to Tronsen Ridge in January.
Blewett Pass area appeared to have the best weather forecast today, a good excuse to hide from the rain on the west.

Our first outing to Swakane Canyon on a snowy day.
I got so exhausted from breaking trail on the road and we ended up turning around at Old Blewett Pass.
The weather was supposed to be better east of Snoqualmie Pass, so I looked to the Teanaway area.
Because of the relatively short two-mile round-trip distance, the mountain had been sitting on the back burner.
