Black pup indicated that he wasn’t yet ready for prime time, so I forewent our original plan and took him on another conditioner.
The one-lane Baring Bridge over South Fork Skykomish had just been reopened two weeks ago, after having undergone emergency repairs since June of this year. Quarter of a mile after bridge crossing, I parked by the privately owned Skylandia Bridge and started walking. On other side of the bridge, we took the first left before the Skylandia Water Systems shed and onto the trail.
With just a handful of down trees, this road turned trail looked to have been fairly well maintained. It started to get a little brushy past the first mile or so. We were in the forest the entire time, not a whole lot to see under a canopy of trees. After two miles of hiking and some scrambling, we turned around and moseyed our way out.
