Holy cow, finally got through October photos. Now I get to go back to stuffing my face with sweets for a few. Because all this sitting in front of my computer kept making me think about those yummy Salted Caramel Dark Chocolate Cookies I had made for the cookie exchange party.
Friends and I really hoped to climb Baring Mountain today, but the rain had spoiled our original plan. It was still raining when we drove through the town of Index so we kept on driving. Without heading too far east on Highway 2, this was the only place in the area that I could think of that the dogs and I went up nearly three years ago. The group was fine with the idea as long as we were out somewhere that wasn’t raining.
It was cloudy the entire time, but some of the nearby peaks and mountains were still visible and/or identifiable. I have yet to see the Enchantments peaks in full view from any of the mountains I’ve been on the north side of the highway. I will pick a sunny day to try again for sure.
The lookout area was a little windy, but thank god it wasn’t as bad as the time the dogs and I were here. The was snow at the tower even, but this time the snow was absent. Either we weren’t going to get much snow this year or we were going to get hit with lots of it later this season. I actually prefer the former. 🙂
Anyhow, we enjoyed the time on top and took as many photos as our little hearts desired then started making our way down the mountain.
