The mostly sunny weather we were supposed to get today ended up being in The Enchantment area south of here. There was less snow than the first time the dogs and I were up here.
We somehow missed part of the trail in the beginning and tenaciously fought our way through what had seemed like an endless blowdown junkyard before meeting up with the trail again. All in all, the trail was visible all the way to the service road and to the start of the summer trailhead.
The slopes were a mixture of ice and mostly loose snow so we needed to break our own trail. The lookout area wasn’t as icy this time around, but it was still quite windy. The clouds from the west slowly made their way east so we lost visibility for about five minutes, and soon dissipated after we started making our way down.
