It’s been while since we’ve had a sunny and warm Sunday.
The goal was to climb Spark Plug Mountain. But as I hiked up Surprise Lake Trail somehow I wasn’t feeling it. Instead I kept hiking and eventually reached Glacier Lake byway of Surprise Lake, which pups and I visited two Christmases ago.
Getting around big boulders to Glacier Lake shore was a bit tricky. The rocks hadn’t yet been completely covered in snow, with lots of opportunities to fall through the cracks.
Access: Surprise Lake Trailhead
Gear: microspikes, snowshoes
