Snow and rain today in the Cascades so I opted to head to the east in hope of finding some sun. Second time up this mountain but first time for the pups. This is a nice and quick hike for people who are pressing for time.
Another typical late start for us and we got to the parking area just before 11 AM. Trail starts on private property but shortly after enters back into the national forest. The mountain stands 3100 feet tall with gradual elevation gain, thus makes it suitable for people of all (or most) ages. Not to mention the pretty wildflowers for all to enjoy along the way.
On the way up we ran into many parties hiking with dogs, briefly chatted with a couple of people. We were the only ones at the viewpoint, had the whole place to ourselves during our stay. After taking some photos we then continued northerly to the true summit to seek out more photo oops. Unfortunately, the best views on this mountain are to the south, so we didn’t stay long before turning around. Sadly, The Enchantments was covered in low clouds so no views there. Icicle Ridge and Tumwater Mountain backing City of Leavenworth was just as picturesque second time around!
On the way down we ran into four more parties, a popular hike for sure!
