2012/11/22 – Mount Gardner / 加德納山

The road closure adds an additional six miles to the trek, and it doesn’t look like it’ll open back up any time soon. Depending on the amount of the snow, you can either follow the service road all the way to North Mount Gardner before scramble. Or you can scramble up the northwest slope of North Mount Gardner and continue to traverse southward to the ridge.

After spending three mindless miles on the road I decided to scramble up the slope. By the time the dogs and I reached the tree line it got really brushy. Bu then it was pointless to turn around, so we kept going and fighting the brush until we got to the upper part of the service road. From there we shot straight up the ridge to reach the summit.

It snowed a little while we were heading up, but it wasn’t a showstopper.
