Judging from the route descriptions I read online, this looked to be another trip full of type 2 fun.
Second trip up the mountain, and this time we approached via the west ridge by scrambling up west slopes.
The trip gave us the rare opportunity to visit the area and to drive Mount Baker Highway nearly to its eastern terminus.
We hadn't set foot in the area since three years ago. The year before that I went up Tolmie Peak just south of here.
Weather on this side of the mountains got progressively better by mid morning, and then sunny the rest of the day.
All the years of staring at Crystal Mountain (aka Silver King) from across the basin, we finally got the chance to pay a visit.
