2013/7/4 – Mount Ellinor / 艾莉諾山

Kodak moment on Mount Ellinor

In preparation for our Rainier climb the next day, I ventured out to the Olympics for a short and easy hike.

Hiking from the upper parking lot turned out to be a lot shorter than I had thought. If it weren’t for the fact that I needed to get back to Seattle in time to pack and get decent amount of sleep, I probably would have started from the lower parking to get more mileage out of this hike.

The parking lot had no views, and more clouds appeared the higher I went to just below the summit. The summit was sunny and mostly clear with blue sky, but the clouds were floating in and out of the nearby peaks for any decent views. Mount Washington was the only visible mountain from the summit.

Enjoyed a long break at the top and chatted with a climber couple from Oregon all the way back to the parking lot.
