Save this hike for a rainy day and we did just that. The rain followed us to Eastern Washington, although just a few hours of light rain.
The road to trailhead was gated so that added additional five miles. The east side portion of Palouse to Cascades Trail felt just like that of the west. We ran into an army van on the way to the trailhead, other than that there was no one else but us on the road.
The highlight of this hike wasn’t the trail itself but the views on the drive into the area. On the drive out I stopped a few times and took some photos along side of Columbia River.
