White Bluffs North Slope / 白懸崖北坡

Sand dunes

It’s easy to forget Washington state is blessed with such diverse landscapes when nearly all of my time is spent in the Cascades. I only read about White Bluffs recently after seeing photos of sand dunes in a report. Who knew sand dunes existed in this part of the state?!

Pups and I explored the north slope of White Bluffs on an extremely windy day in fall. Apart from the larger-than-life white bluffs, the several large, wind-blown sand dunes added even more drama to the already impressive landscape. Skies were also full of dramatic colors near day’s end.
